“The Shadow of a Monster” in IBBY Honorable List

Children’s Book Council of Iran introduced Abbas Jahangirian’s novel to the Honorable Mention of the Written Works of IBBY 2020.

According to Kanoon General Directorate, this novel puts emphasis on human being need to preserve the species at the edge of extinction. Kanoon published the novel in 2016.

This novel is created in the form of "Today's Teenage Novel"; it is the story of a girl named Maral who goes to Golestan National Park with her brother…

 “The Shadow of a Monster” was the nominee of the Book of the Year by the Islamic Republic of Iran. Receiving an award from Kanoon at 18th Children and Teen Book Prize, the silver badge from the 5th round of book of the year called Flying Turtle can be mentioned as achievements of this novel.

IBBY has introduced “They all Saw a Cat” translated by Keyvan Abidi Ashtiani, and for illustration section “An Umbrella with White Butterflies” with Ghazaleh Beigdalou as the illustrator published by Fatemi Publications.

 TUTI Publications, a subset of Fatemi Publications, is introduced for the Honorable List.

Introducing creators of any type of work to receive Tablet of Honor and registering their information in Honorable List is an exceptional opportunity  for IBBY to introduce outstanding Iranian books to 77 its member from other countries. 

Creator are supposed to receive Tablets of Honor during the 37th International Congress of Children and Youth Literature in Moscow, Russia.

Honorable List by IBBY includes outstanding works recently published presented every two years to felicitate authors, illustrators and translators from member countries of IBBY.
