Kanoon Published “Herman”

Kanoon published “Herman” written by Lars Saabye Christensen for the first time.

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, “Herman” written by Lars Saabye Christensen and translated by Shaghayegh Ghandhari.  Mohammad Ali Adili has done the design and page layout. Kanoon has published the book for the first time.

It is said in summary that Herman is an eleven-year-old ordinary boy. He is not much different from other boys. But, one day he gets up and discovers that his hair is falling out; all his hair. Herman who is a sensitive, smart and humorous boy comes to know that they pity him at school which hurts him badly. He has good relations with his dad who has been on bed for years. They exchange interesting dialogues. But, with the grandfather passing away, Herman notices that there are more important things than hair fall. Certain things are lost and never come back…

Lars Saabye Christensen is a Danish/Norwegian author born in 1953. He has studied literature and art history at Oslo University. He has written numerous poetry and plays, even several film scripts. He is mostly known as a novelist.  

On 24 October 2006, he was made a Commander of the Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav. In April 2008, he was made a Chevalier dans L’ordre des Arts et Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Literature) by the French Government. In 2018, he was awarded an honorary Amanda award for his contribution to Norwegian culture. He is a member of the Norwegian Academy for Language and Literature.

Lars Saabye Christensen wrote “Herman” in 1988 which won the award by The Nordic Council's Literature Prize. It is suitable for children above eleven. Kanoon has published it for the first time priced 35 thousands Tomans.

The third edition of “Herman” was published simultaneous with the first edition in 7500 copies at hand in Kanoon stores and BookCity.
