“Ocean Behind Window” Attending Iranian Film Festival 
San Francisco

“Ocean Behind Window”, directed by Babak Nabizadeh, is screened in San Francisco 13th Iranian Film Festival (IFF).

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, this film is experiencing its second international presence. It is supposed to be screened in competition section of the festival on Sept 19th 2020.

“Ocean Behind Window” is the story of creative Iranian children from southern islands that contrary to the high prosperity of the economic cycle, trading of goods and due to the strategic location of the region are living under hard conditions and with the least facilities to make a living. By using traditional music, ancient mirrors and local dances, they try to earn money through foreign tourists in attractive parts of the island.

The feature film, “Ocean Behind Window” with Seid Jalal Chavoushian as producer, a Kanoon product in 2017.

This film received six awards from Esfahan 32nd International Children and Youth Festival in 2 sections.

According to the news, the films sent to the 13th round of this festival are selected for various sections such as feature films, documentary, short animations, music video and children.

This cinematic event is the first independent Iranian film festival outside Iran established in 2008. The films made by Iranian film makers or films about Iran are screened in this festival.

It should be noted that in 2013 “Sepanta” Award for the best film of the festival “Iranian Films in San Francisco” was given to the animation “Why this Phone does not Ring?” directed by Hadi Yaghinloo produced by Kanoon.

13th San Francisco Iranian Film Festival is held from in San Francisco, United States from  Sept 19th to 21st 2020.
