“The Ocean behind the Window” won the Grand Prize of  "Zero Plus" International Children's and Youth Film Festival

“The Ocean behind the Window” directed by Babak Nabizadeh could win the grand prize of the 8th "Zero Plus" International Children's and Youth Film Festival, Russia.

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, this film which is Kanoon production in 2019 competed with nine other films from various countries in the feature movies contest section. Babak Nabizadeh who was not able to attend this art event due to the pandemic had an online dialog with the audience in the festival. 

He expressed his happiness that the judges of "Zero Plus" festival paid attention to the story of the film, which is about the needy yet talented teenagers from southern islands of Iran, and awarded it with one of the important prizes of the festival.

The director of “The Ocean behind the Window” expressing his gratitude twoards Seid Jalal Chavoushian the producer and Kanoon addressed children and adolescents interested in the world of cinema, “Dear kids, do not forget that in your life you will face various happeneings and events that are far from your imaginations, that may not be to your liking.

He continued, “Therefore, you must use your energy and your talent the best way you can. If you start adding to your knowledge from now on, read books, and observe your surroundings, for sure you can be a successful and influencing person in your country when you grow up. Do not forget that the nature and the earth need knowledgable, alert and strong people to survive.

This feature film has previously won the award for the best children and adolescents’ film from Sepanta, 13th Annual Iranian Film Festival-San Francisco. It also has won the Golden Butterfly for the best youth film, UNESCO main award and honorary diploma for the best actor from 32nd International Film Festival for Children and Youth, Isfahan.

The 8th “Zero Plus" International Children's and Youth Film Festival started on Sept 27th and it is still going on. It will go on until Oct 3, 2021 in Tyumen, Russia.
