The Toy Supervision Council Became a Member of Asia Toy and Play Association

The Council for the Supervision of the Design, Manufacture and Distribution of Toys, along with prominent international brands and institutions in the field of toys and games, became a member of Asia Toy and Play Association (ATPA) based in Singapore.

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, Asia Toy and Play Association (ATPA) is a membership-based association whose mission is to promote children's rights to safe access to toys and learning through play. The other part of the association's activities includes promoting support work, mental growth and promoting fair approaches in the industry and following the rules to allow responsible companies to grow further in the industry.

Founded 11 years ago to meet the production needs of large companies such as Lego, Hasbro and Mattle in South and East Asia, it now operates more widely in Australia and China.

The executive director of Asia Toy and Play Association, Matteo Vezzosi, said at the specialized meetings of the National Toy Festival: Legislation with Asian government organizations, promoting social awareness between producers and people directly, supporting industries in business, holding events and seminars are four areas of activity of this association.

ATPA also adheres to the core principles of children safety as a priority; enforcing children's rights to safe play; promoting play-based learning; supporting the educational benefits of play with regard to children's sensitivities; supporting responsible leadership and the voice of industry in building cooperative relationships with policymakers to promote trade; supporting the industry growth, intellectual property rights, trade and ethical production; reducing or eliminating barriers to fair trade and production while promoting environmental sustainability.

The head of the Secretariat of the Council for Supervision of Design, Manufacture and Distribution of Toys called the membership of this council in ATPA as one of the most important events of this year. He stressed that cooperation with international organizations in the field of games and toys will transfer experience and constructive interaction between manufacturers and activists in the toy industry in Iran and international experts and brands.

Aidin Mehdizadeh Tehrani continued: "From now on, the Toy Supervision Council will work with prominent organizations such as the Indian Children and Toy Manufacturers Association (AITBA), the Australian Toy Association, the Asian Toy Industry Committee, the Hong Kong Toy Council, the European Toy Industry (TIE) and the like. It will promote important issues in the toy industry more than before and will draw on international and regional experiences in developing and supporting the toy industry.”

The Secretariat of the Toy Supervision Council is located in Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults.   Its purpose is to organize the toy industry by supporting, guiding and supervising the designing, manufacturing, importing and distributing of toys.
