“My Imaginary Skirt” Made Way to Bursa International Festival, Turkey

“My Imaginary Skirt” written and directed by Behnaz Mehdikhah produced by Kanoon Theater Center is being staged in the 26th Bursa International Children and Youth Theater Festival in Turkey.

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, this play was staged in 2020 at Kanoon Theater and Puppet Theater Production Center and it was well received by the audience.  

The play is about an actor’s life. She describes her life and says because of incident in her childhood, her black and white world turned into a colorful one like a rainbow.

In this play, with the actor, the audience travels to her childhood in a village, visiting and discovering the beauties of the nature. A rooster’s crowing and birds’ chirping, visiting the ground, listening to the seeds’ songs and the plants growing up, swimming in the river, and sleeping under the sky full of stars. All and all with enchanting images on the girl’s skirt direct the audience to see and listen to the beauty of their surroundings and the gifts God has given them better.

Behnaz Mehdikhah has written, acted, designed, and made the puppets of “My Imaginary Skirt”.

Other crew of the play are: Arash Salagi is the composer; Farzad Soleimani and Alireza Hosseini are director assistants; Azadeh Farhangian is the poet; Maryam Gholami and Behnaz Mehdikhah are the stage and decor designers of the play.
The 26th Bursa International Children and Youth Theatre Festival is being held in Turkey.
