Screening Kanoon Old Films at Yamagata Festival, Japan

Kanoon films produced in 60’s, 70’s and 80’s are going to be screened at Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival, Japan.

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, the following films are going to be screened in this artistic event: “Amoo Sibiloo” by Bahram Beizaie, 1969, “Freedom” by Naser Taghavaie 1969, also films from 50’s. These films were screened on Oct 11 2019.

 “First Case, Second Case” by Abbas Kiarostami produced in 1979 was screened on Oct 12, 2019.

Based on the news, “Black and White”, an animation by Sohrab Shahid Sales, produced in 1972 was be screened on Oct 13, and “Bashu, The Little Stranger” by Bahram Beizaie produced in  1985 on Oct 15.

To study the roots of interest in Iranian movies, the selection committee of the 26th Yamagata International Film Festival has prepared the prerequisites of screening 15 movies made from 1960 to 1980 including fictional, documentary and experimental films: short and feature.

The 26th Yamagata International Film Festival is held from Oct 10 to 17, 2019 in Yamagata, Japan.
