 “Knock Out” Nominated for Giffoni International Film Festival Award, Italy

“Knock Out” by Gholamreza Ramezani is the latest feature film by Kanoon nominated to get an award in 49th Giffoni International Film Festival competition section.

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, Gryphon Award is granted to one of the feature films in the competition section.

 “Knock Out”, a film for thirteen-year-old children has participated in the competition section, Giffoni Film Festival which is an outstanding cinematographic event for children and young adults.

The story of “Knock Out”, recently been screened in Panorama section, Zulin International Film Festival, Czech Republic is about Mohammad who is a diligent student bullied by one of the students. He is a friend of Amir, an athlete, … .

Giffoni Film Festival is for children and adolescents films. In formal contest section, films are judged in 8 various parts.

Every year, thousands of children and adolescents from various countries and cities in Italy in six age groups of 3 to 18 years old  judge works participating in various sections of the festival.

  According to this news, “François Truffaut” is a special award named after the well-known French director given to a famous director or actor since 1988.

Abbas Kiarostami won this award in the 23rd round of the festival for the collection of his works in 1993. “Experience”, a film by Abbas Kiarostami, won the award of the narrating section of the festival in 1974.

Giffoni Festival is being held in a town called “Giffoni Valle Piana” close to Salerno in south of Italy from 19 to 27 June 2019.

Farabi Foundation cooperated with Kanoon to produce “Knock Out” in 2018. Kanoon is the producer of the film.
