 “The 11th Step” Reached ANIMAFEST ZAGREB

“The 11th Step” made by Maryam Kashkoulinia, recent production, has made its path to the competition section of 48th Animafest Zagreb.

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, the ten-minute and fifty-second animation, “The 11th Step”, is going to be screened on Oct 3rd, 2020 for age category 10 to 14 at 10 a.m. in the competition section of “Children Movies” in this round of Zagreb Festival.

According to the news, 41 films from 20 countries are competing in the children and adolescents competition section of Animafest Zagreb, 2020.

Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children & Young Adults had participated in the competition section of grand prize for the 47th round of this festival with “Am I a Wofl?” made by Amir Houshang Moein, 2019.

Maryam Kashkoulinia, university professor and well-known Iranian animator, is experiencing her third international participation with “The 11th Step” in the competition section of the festival.  Previously, she shined in competition section, Zagreb Festival, 2012 with “Tunnel” and in 2015 with “That’s Mine”.
Animafest Zagreb was founded in 1972 in various sections including competition, reviewing previous works, conferences, lectures, and exhibitions, meetings for information exchange, awards, panoramas, workshops, and events. In addition to promoting the art of animation, this festival has had considerable effect on the artistic life in Zagreb.

 Zagreb Festival with a history of 48 years is the second oldest festival in the world dedicated to animation.
 Since its inception, the festival has paid special attention to creative filmmakers in a variety of genres, from traditional, stop-motion and computer techniques to experimental techniques and multimedia exploration.

Filmmakers from all over the world know that participating in the Zagreb Animation Festival means meeting friends and animators, as well as audience who know and respect the animation works well. In the days of the festival, from the best animators in the field to students and emerging talents all sit together in theaters to watch movies.

It is reminded that the jury has classified all the suitable works submitted in the competitive part of the festival based on the pre-made classification into four age categories: 4 to 7 years, 7 to 10 years, 10 to 14 years and 14 years and above.

The 48th Animafest Zagreb will be held from September 28 to October 3, 2020 in Zagreb, Croatia, in accordance with health guidelines.
