Screening Two Kanoon Plays with Adolescents with Special Needs as Actors

“Silk” written and directed by Yasamin Peydavoodi and “Long-neck Cuckoo” directed by Mehdi Moghimi Esfandiari with young adults with special needs’ cooperation and acting are screened on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities for the interested.

General Director at Kanoon Cinematic and Theater Affairs said, “Kanoon Theater and Puppet Theater Production Center” supported artists with special needs in the domain of Children and Adolescents Theater through a project called “Inclusive Theater Performance Support Plan” (for Children and Adolescents with Special Needs). Cooperating in the process of production of plays, Kanoon let these groups use Kanoon halls to introduce this type of play.

According to Kanoon General Directorate was for Public Relations and International Affairs, Amir Mashhadi Abbas  announced that two theater-movies, “Silk” and “Long-neck Cuckoo” are screened through “Showing Shows”. He said that under the lot present conditions and due to the pandemic we could not stage any play by artists with special needs but we made it possible for this groupto watch some precious plays through Kanoon internet portal free of charge. “Long-neck Cuckoo” is the story of an autistic boy called Payam. His family are not willing for him to attend gatherings since they think that he is odd. One day, Payamenters the theater group rehearsals by chance. The groupinstructor discovers his talent and decides to make him a member of the group but other members disagree… 

“Silk”, selected at Regional Theater Festival for Disablesat Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province in 2019, is the story of a small silk worm that is born in a faraway jungle. Sheytounak decides to get the cocoon of the worm. At this time, the kind angel and the ranger come to his rescue...

It is reminded that the two plays can be watched free of charge for three days (since December 3rd) concurrent with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities at th.kpf.ir
