According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, the advisor to the President of Iran Language Institute said, “Celta is a popular course for English language teachers as a second or foreign language presented by University of Cambridge.”
Alireza Eslami added that the certificate of this course is recognized as the most credited in this field, a popular one by language schools worldwide.
He said that English instructors could update their teaching language knowledge and promote their teaching skills by the supervision of Cambridge University experts. On the other hand, there is an increasing demand to participate in the online course due to the reduction of the costs.
He reminded that up to the present no center in Iran has officially received the permission to hold the course. Before this, the applicants had to travel to neighboring countries to participate in the course and stay in these countries for several weeks. Due to the breakout of the pandemic and the increase of online instruction was a chance for Kanoon to prepare facilities for the teachers to improve and promote their teaching skills and knowledge by participating in the course.
Eslami said that previously the expenses for travelling to neighboring countries was paid through Iran Cambridge Language Institute. Kanoon was in charge of registering the applicants and other necessary arrangements for the interview and classes.
He said that the course was held once with Kanoon cooperation. He added that the certificate for the new course is not different from in-person course and the word “Online” will not be written in the certificate though holding online classes has its own difficulties and limitations.
At the end he said, “We are trying to hold the new course in May for ten weeks twice a week.”
