12th Tehran International Animation Festival is Postponed

The 12th Tehran International Animation Festival was postponed to June 1401 due to the expansion of the Omicron strain and in order to maintain the health of the participants.

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, Tehran International Animation Festival director said, “Following all international standards, we were hoping to hold the festival like previous years, but with the outbreak of the disease, it is impossible.”

Mohammad Reza Karimi Saremi added, “Attendance of 85 countries, more than 1500 films, judging seven sections of the festival, printing catalogs and specialized books, holding 20 meetings with more than 250 screenings in five days and the presence of 30 reputable animation companies are some of the programs prepared in this event. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic and expansion of Omicron strain, in order to maintain the health of the noble animation group and to appreciate the efforts of the medical staff of the country, the date of the festival was postponed.

He added: “We hope that with the eradication of the corona virus on June 8-12, 1401, we will witness the holding of the 12th Tehran International Animation Festival in Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults.”
