Cooperation between Kanoon and Qatar Publication

An active author in the domain of children book publication from Qatar has gifted one of his books titled “Hanzal Valley” to Kanoon libraries. This is done simultaneously with Tehran Book Fair.

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, Asma Abdullatif Saleh Alhamzeh Alkavari, the founder and manager of Darol Najabeh Altabah va Alnashr and a member of the Board of Trustees of the State Award for Children and Adolescent Literature and director of the Qatar Children's Literature Education Center, during his previous visit to Kanoon International Affairs and the Center for Cultural and Artistic Creations got acquainted with the books and activities of  Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (Kanoon).

In this regard, during Tehran International Book Fair, another meeting was held at his request at the Qatar Pavilion - which was the special guest of the Tehran International Book Fair - in the presence of the representative of Kanoon International Affairs.

In this meeting, Asma Abdul Latif Saleh Al-Hamza Al-Kawari gifted more than 100 volumes of one of his books entitled “Hanzal Valley” published in two languages, Persian and Arabic to Kanoon libraries. The head of Qatar National Libraries was also present at the ceremony.

They negotiated about purchasing the copyright of some Kanoon books. Kanoon postponed signing the contract to the time he returns to Qatar and receives the pre-contract.

By holding various book fairs in Doha, the capital of this country has special outlook towards the industry of publication and its development especially in the area of translating children and adolescents’ books.
