Five Works by Iranian Illustrators Made Way to the Final Stage of Golden Pinwheel Competition in Shanghai, China

China Shanghai International Children's Book Fair (CCBF) announced the names of the 69 illustrators who had made way to the final stage of Golden Pinwheel Competition, a prestigious competition in 2025, out of which the names of five Iranian illustrators can be seen.

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, 50 books in the section of “Book Publications” and 19 works are selected in the “Business” section. Iranian illustrators'’ names in the final list include: Parvin Heidarizadeh, Mojdeh Kianzadeh, Bahareh Saadatmandi, Maryam Mahmoudi Moghadam, Najla Mahdavi Ashraf.
“ The Sun in the Turkmen Sahara” illustrated by Najla Mahdavi Ashraf produced by Kanoon has made way to the selected works’ list.
The 10th round of Golden Pinwheel Young Illustrators Competition was held with 2828 works from 78 countries. The jury of this round include eight judges from the People's Republic of China, South Korea, Italy, Belgium, USA and Germany.

This competition has started its work in 2015. It is a precious opportunity for young illustrators to display their talent worldwide, while it is a bridge between illustrators and publishers all over the world.
“Golden Pinwheel” is not only a competition, but a complete program including exhibition, the illustrated book of the year, and extensive advertising campaigns.
The works of 69 finalists will be published in the special catalogue of the competition, and will be displayed from 14 to 16 Nov 2025 in the Golden Pinwheel Illustration Exhibition in the sidelines of China Shanghai International Children's Book Fair.
On the eve of the exhibition, the jury will introduce the final winners one more time. These awards include two grand awards for a Chinese illustrator, and one international illustrator, the special award of the jury and people award.
