According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, “The Journey” is Bahram Beyzai’s second short film after “Mustached Uncle” produced at Kanoon.
After being restored with format 4, at Roshana Studio managed by Kamran Saharkhiz and with Kanoon support, it is ready to be presented at international festivals.
By displaying more than 240 films from 79 countries in this round of London Film Festival and emphasis on the participation of female directors, London Festival, one of the most important cinema events, is being held.
“The Journey”, a short film, is going to be displayed on Oct 9 and 13 in London.
The thirty-three-minute film, “The Journey” in black and white with two teenagers, Sirous Hassanpour and Abbas Dastaranj starring was made in 1972.
Sirous Hassanpour says, “Acting in “The Journey” was a new experiment since for two weeks, on the director recommendation, he had practiced acting with Varouj Karim Masihi, the director assistant.” He is a film director now. He has “The Childhood Train” movie in his profile at Kanoon.
“The Journey” has received the award of the best short film from Moscow International Film Festival and the award for the best short film from Chicago International Film Festival in 1973.
“The Journey” may look simple, but there lies deep humane experience behind this simplicity, pondering in being lost, searching for truth and rediscovering the humane meaning.
The 69th London International Film Festival is being held in London, 8 to 19 Oct 2025.
