According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, the interested can send their works to Kanoon Museum by Feb 14, 2027. International Biennial Illustration of Bratislava is held at Bratislava in Czech Republic every two years. It demonstrates and judges the works of children's books illustrations from various countries. This event is held with the cooperation of UNESCO office, International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY), related institutions like Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic, Slovak National Commission for UNESCO, International House of Art for Children (BIBIANA) and the supporters. Next to the competition section and the exhibition, various programs and other events are being held. The office of the festival, with the help of UNESCO, is going to hold workshops for the participant illustrators from various countries, especially developing countries. The Condition for Illustrations participation from every country and based on BIB 2027 regulations, up to ten works are accepted from every country. Each illustrator can present up to ten works from one or two published books to the competition. Those illustrators who are participating in this event for the first time can present their works to BIB created in the past five years. Those illustrators who have previously participated in the event can only present works created after January 2025. Additionally, participants must hold the citizenship of the country they are representing at the exhibition. It is necessary to send a copy of every book in which the selected illustrations are published. Sending the second copy of the book is optional, yet if sent, it can be used for the exhibition in BIB 2027. This competition is for original illustrating. Works can be created by hand sketching, painting, graphic and printing techniques, new and composing techniques, digital illustrating with a combination of analogue and digital techniques. For digital illustrations and mixed-media works, a print signed by the artist is accepted as an original work. Works must be submitted unframed and without passe-partout; submissions consisting solely of digital files—whether via email or on digital storage media—are not accepted. In addition to the original work, a digital version suitable for printing in the BIB catalogue must also be provided. 2027 BIB Awards The competition awards are selected and presented by the international jury and include a Grand Prize worth 3,000 US dollars, five "Golden Apples" each worth 1,500 US dollars, and five special BIB plaques each worth 1,000 US dollars. The Grand Prize winner may also hold a solo exhibition of their work at the next edition of BIB. The event's international jury may also award certificates of appreciation to publishers who have contributed to the development and innovation of illustration through the publication of high-quality children's books. The works of each illustrator will be displayed in a space measuring two square meters. The organizers bear no responsibility for potential damage caused by lighting or for the poor quality of the ink and paper used in the artworks. All submitted works will be returned to the participating individuals or institutions not later than four months after the conclusion of the exhibition; the exception being works selected for display at other events, which may remain in the organizers' possession for a longer period. Books submitted to the library will become part of the BIB exhibition collection, and each participating illustrator will receive a copy of the exhibition catalog.
