Moradi Kermani and Kanoon Mobile Libraries are Astrid Lindgren Award Nominees for the Third Time

Houshang Moradi Kermani and Kanoon rural mobile libraries are nominated for the third time to receive Astrid Lindgren Award in 2020.

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, Moradi Kermani as a children-adolescent author and Kanoon rural mobile libraries are introduced as award nominees in 2020 for the sake of promoting reading.

The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award has been set up in 2002 by Sweden government to commemorate this popular Swedish author.

This award is the most important and expensive children-adolescents literature award, and the second important literature award in the world after Hans Christian Anderson Award that not only authors and illustrators but also storytellers, institutions and promoters in children literature field and reading can win.

This award it granted to one or more artists or promoters regardless of language and nationality.

The aim of granting this award is to reinforce and enhance the quality of children and adolescents literature and paying more attention to children rights worldwide.

The juries for introducing nominees from Iran are from Kanoon, Children’s Book Council of Iran, Institute for Research on the History of Children’s Literature, and Iranian Association for Children and Youth.

 More than sixty countries are participating in this contest.
