According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, “Golden Top Knot” directed by Mahin Javaherian is Kanoon first animation presented as virtual reality, a 360 degree-film.
“Golden Top Knot” produced in 2018 is produced in the form of virtual reality (360-degree) with the effort to preserve the style and form of the animation.
This animation has used digital cutout technique. It is six minutes. Afsaneh Shabaan Nejad has versed the songs.
This animation can be watched by VR (Virtual Reality) glasses. The audience can feel themselves in the atmosphere of the animation and next to the film characters in all available spaces of the film.
VR glasses with their capabilities soon will change into one of most popular tool in various domains.
Achieving this requires investment and coherent and continuous planning to produce internal content. Since these glasses can get connected to the Internet, they can be used to produce entertaining and educational games in the domain of cinema and animation. The interaction that this medium creates between body movement and image makes it a very high potential in the field of education.
Reza Ansarin and Mohammad Salehi have directed the VR part of “Golden Top Knot”. So far, 80 percent of the production is done.
Accordingly, in order to produce this work in 360 degrees, a group of animation artists reconstructed the continuous story space of the film to cover the 360 degree-image and were able to produce a valuable and presentable work in the field of virtual reality for children and adolescents.
A short part of this film was screened in 2019 at Kanoon 5th National Toy Festival, which was very well welcomed by the audience.
“Golden Top Knot” is selected as the best short animation of the 32nd Isfahan International Film Festival for Children and Adolescents. It also has won Silver Statue at Roshd 40th International Film Festival.
It should be noted that this animation along with seven other Kanoon animations has also been introduced in the 34th International Short Film Market of Clermont-Ferrand, France.
