“The 11th Step” Received the Award of the Best Film from Sedicicorto International Film Festival Forli

“The 11th Step”, the animation made by Maryam Kashkoulinia, managed to obtain the award of the best film from the section of short films, Sedicicorto International Film Festival Forli.

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, “The 11th Step”, Kanoon new animation, received its first international award called “Luminor” trophy plus 500 Euros from Sedicicorto International Film Festival Forli.

Kanoon produced the ten-minute and fifty-second animation “The 11th Step” in 2019 based on a book carrying the same title by the late Sousan Taghdis.

This art event devoted one section to Iranian films to make opportunity to exchange information in among the professional audience of short films in the area of film industry, as well as to draw the audience attention and to form media knowledge in children and adolescents as the audience. Fifteen short Iranian films had entered this section. 

Based on the news, this festival accepts films in the following section: documentary, international fiction, international amateur animation, national films, children animations in international section, national and international animations more than 2 minutes in various genres, the competition section for Iranian films and the competition authors from Emilia Romagna. The first prize of the festival, the Luminor trophy plus 500 Euros is given to the best film in every section.

Base on this and regarding the outbreak of Corona pandemic, the display of all selected films and other programs of the 17th Sedicicorto International Film Festival Forli was online from Oct 2nd to 11, 2020 in Italy. 

It is reminded that “The 11th Step” has participated at the competition section of 34th  Cinekid International Film Festival, Amsterdam, the Netherlands;  the competition section of  films for children aged 7 to 10 in 15th Biennial Animation Festival, Bratislava (BAB), Slovakia; the competition section of children films of 48th World Festival of Animated Film Animafest Zagreb, Croatia; competition section of 16th Indie-Anifest (Korea Independent Animation Film Festival), South Korea; the competition section of 60th  Zlin Film Festival (International Festival for Children and Youth),  Czech Republic; and the competition section of Annecy International Animation Film Festival, France.
