Books by Claire Jobert  in Turkey

Six books by Claire Jobert were published in Turkish for Turkish children to make them familiar with Kanoon books.

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, “God's Cookies”, “The Little Mouse’s Prayer”, “Goodbye, The Old Raccoon”, “In Search of God”, “The Story of the Little Green Lizard”, “The Most Faithful Friend”; six books written and illustrated by Claire Jobert were translated and published in Turkish by Nar Turkish Publications.

The following is a summary of these books:

“The Most Faithful Friend”

“The Most Faithful Friend” is for the age category above seven, published for the first time in 2005.

The story takes place in an indigo jungle. A little elephant recently arrives at the jungle who scares others by his appearance, but after a while, they are interested in making friends with him. This short fantasy tries to make children familiar with theology. 

“In Search of God”

Kanoon published the book in 2005. It is the story of a little squirrel hearing Bibi Sakineh calling god in her little home every day with no one to reply back. He decides to find god at any price and take him to Bibi’s home.  The book is for the age category above 7.

“The Story of the Little Green Lizard”

It is the story of a little green lizard born out of an eggshell on a rock.  When he came out, he took a look around; he really wished to fly, to swim and move like other animals. They all helped him but the lizard was not satisfied until…

The book was first published in 2006 for age category above seven.

“God's Cookies”

This book is suitable for children above seven. It is the story of a little bear who wanted to thank god for all the beauty he has created. However, he did not know how to.

Kanoon published this book for the first time in 2008. In 2011, Editions Tawhid published it in French for French children.

A play based on the book managed to win six awards and the appreciation tablet in the 23rd International Children & Youth Theater Festival, Hamedan

“The Little Mouse’s Prayer”

You think mice do not pray? You are wrong. Look, how our little mouse prays in his loneliness and what he asks god. By the way, remember to tell the little mouse to be careful when he prays.

The audience for the book is children above seven. The book was first published in 2008.

The last book of this selection is “Goodbye, The Old Raccoon”, published by Nar Publications for Turkish children to make them familiar with Kanoon books.

On a nice spring day, six baby rabbits are born. The rabbit mom licked and kissed them and told the rabbit dad, “Still something is moving in my belly. I think it is the seventh baby.”

But the more they waited, the seventh baby rabbit was not born. Until….

This book was published for the first time in 2009 for children above seven.

A play based on the book directed by Fahimeh and Sima Mirzahosseini was staged in three cultural centers in Tunisia during the 1st International Children Theater Festival, Tunisia. 

It is reminded that Claire Jobert is a French author and illustrator who lives in Iran. She knows Farsi very well and so far, Kanoon has published several of her books.

All the six books are published in English, Spanish, and Arabic.
