According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, the final meeting for reviewing the works entered at Kanoon Winter Award for Book of the Month was held on May 29, 2021 with the judges of this season attending the virtual ceremony. The judges are: Mehri Mahouti, Zohreh Parirokh, Foroozandeh Khodajoo, Morvarid Razaghi and Maryam Zandi.

In this meeting, 21 nominated books (4 children stories, 8 adolescents stories, 3 children poetries and 6 adolescents poetries) were reviewed.

Based on this, the jury recognized the following three books to receive the award for the first month of winter: “Trilogy of Gate of the Dead” (Vertical Graveyard, The Night of the Moat, The Well of Darkness) by Hamid Reza Shahabadi by Ofoq Publishers.  

“Island” written by David Almond and translated by Shirin Malak Fazeli published by Hoopa Publications could win the award for the second month of winter. 

Meanwhile, “I Told the Apple, Hello Lady”, a poetry book by Naser Keshavarz published by BehNashr Publications could win Kanoon Silver Bird for the third month of the winter.

Kanoon Book of the Month and Year Award for Winter is held by Mostafa Rahmandoost as the secretary of the award ceremony to promote the quality of books and introducing suitable books to children, adolescents and their families. In addition, to support those who play a role in the domain.
