“Yadoo” Made Way to Children and Youth Film Festival

“Yadoo” Competes with other works from Iran cinema in the 34th Isfahan International Film Festival for Children & Youth.

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, Alireza Tabesh, the festival secretary, announced 18 feature films are participating in the “Competition Section of Iranian Feature Films” including “Yadoo” directed by Mehdi Jafari and produced by Mohammad Reza Mesbah. 

Yadoo’s story takes place in the first months of the imposed war. Many families migrate but Yadoo’s mother makes a different decision. She believes they must stay and fight. Each time she has a new reason for her decision. Yadoo is trying to convince his mother to leave Aabadan but in the meantime, he falls in love.

This film is Kanoon’s latest production which has won a crystal Simorgh from the section called “Seeking Simorgh” at 39th Fajr Film Festival for the best director, best film, best sound recording, the best filming, and honorary diploma for the best leading actress. Another success of this film is receiving the Tenth Phoenix Cinema Award. 

The film script of this feature film is based on a real story written by Mahin Abbaszadeh and Mehdi Jarfai. Setareh Pesyani, Milad Soylavi, Mohammad Mehdi Alboali, Reyhaneh Ariamanesh, and Akbar Odoud are the actors in this feature film.

The 34th Isfahan International Film Festival for Children and Youth is held from 8th to 13th October, 2021 in two sections of Iran and International Contest in Isfahan and Tehran.
