Inviting the Enthusiasts of Performing Arts to Participate in the Next Generation of ASSITEJ

“Next Generation Project” is the title of an event by ASSITEJ, the International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People held in partnership with Bibu, Sweden. A number of activists and enthusiasts in the field from all over the world are supposed to exchange ideas and experience about performing arts.

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, this event is devised to exchange art and cultural ideas and have international co-operations among countries. Sixteen artists and interested in performing arts will be selected out of the ones who have applied.

By announcing this call, Iran ASSITEJ has invited all activists and enthusiasts of performing arts not older than 36 with English language skills to fill out the form and send their documents, information and work experience to ASSITEJ office in Iran.

Based on this, it was supposed to hold this event in 2021 but due to the pandemic it was postponed to 2022. The organizers have asked the participants to send their documents to the national offices of their countries one more time.

This event is one of the most important places for artists to meet and for professional performances in Sweden. Sixteen artists, critics, producers, and researchers from all over the world will be selected to exchange their ideas and experience about children and adolescents’ performing arts.

Meanwhile, the theme of Next Generation Project, 2022 is announced as "Making Location". It is explained that this title is a multifaceted approach to planning, designing and managing public spaces.  “Making location” uses the assets and potentials of a local community and its purpose is to create public spaces that promotes the health, happiness and well-being of the people.

This event includes various sections such as performance for children and adolescents, discussions, seminars, a series of workshops and “Sharing” with the participants at Next Generation section, connecting with theater practitioners from Sweden and ASSITEJ International Society, and meeting with ASSITEJ Next Generation Network.

Bibu provides the participants with accommodation during the event, registration fees, theater tickets, seminars, and workshops. The expenses for food and the like is included, as well.
