“Crab” Enters at the Competition Section of Interfilm 37th International Short Film Festival Berlin

“Crab” made by Shiva Sadegh Asadi was accepted at the international section of Interfilm 37th International Short Film Festival Berlin.

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, “Crab” is displayed in a ninety-two minute program along with seven films from China, USA, Canada, France, and Sweden on Nov 17 and 21, 2021.

International Short Film Festival Berlin (Interfilm) is the oldest short film festival in Germany. Every year, thousands of films participate in its various sections.

The eleven-minute animation, “Crab” produced in 2019, is the story of a shy and isolated boy who is interested to be a member of school theater group. Yet, the only role offered to him is the role of a crab.

The accepted films at the international competition section compete to win the € 6,000 cash prize for the best short film; the € 3,000 cash prize for best feature film; the € 3,000 cash prize for the best animation; the € 5,000 cash prize for the best cinematography; the € 500 and the € 600 for the best sound designing; and two € 2000 and € 10,000 cash prizes for films with “Confrontation” as theme.   

The final winners of feature and animation sections of Berlin Festival are introduced to Academy Awards Oscar.

Interfilm 37th International Short Film Festival is held from 16 to 21 Nov, 2021 in Berlin, Germany.
