 “Crab” Goes to Dhaka Short and Independent Film Festival

“Crab”, an eleven-minute animation directed by Shiva Sadegh Asadi, is experiencing its latest international attendance at Dhaka 16th International Short and Independent Films.

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, Kanoon produced this animation in 2019. It is supposed to be displayed with seven other films from India, Bangladesh and Jordan at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.

Launched as the first International Short Film Festival since 1988, it is one of the oldest independent short film festivals in South Asia.

The purpose of this festival is to create a platform for solidarity and better understanding among independent short and documentary filmmakers from Asia and other parts of the world.

The 16th Dhaka International Short and Independent Film Festival is being held in-person and virtually from Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, from February 25 to March 4, 2022.

This successful Kanoon animation with more than 25 international appearances has so far won the Special Jury Prize of the 18th Hiroshima Animation Festival 2020, the Golden Award for Best Picture from the Audience and the Diploma of Honor of the 30th International Short Film Festival in Dresden, Germany. It has won the Special Award by the jury of 17th International Italian Short Film Festival "Lago".
