Online Screening of Two Plays by Artists with Special Needs on the International Day of the Disabled People

Two Movie-Theaters titled “Silk” and “The Long-Neck Cuckoo” with the contribution and roll-playing of adolescents and youngsters with special needs are displayed on the International Day of the Disabled Persons at Kanoon site for free.

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, the movie-theater, “Silk”, directed and written by Yasmin Peydavood and “The Long-Neck Cuckoo” directed by Mehdi Moghimi Esfandiari and Mohsen Safari performed by artists with special needs “blind, with physical and motion disability and down syndrome”. In the form of “Showing Shows”, the play can be watched on Dec. 3rd, 2021 on Kanoon portal at: cinema.kpf.ir

 “Silk” is a play that narrates the life of a little silkworm born in a faraway jungle. The spider decides to take the little worm’s cocoon. At this time, the kind fairy and the forester come to the worm’s rescue…

“Silk” is the winner of the Regional Festival Theater for the Disable Persons in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province in 2018.

 “The Long-Neck Cuckoo” is about a boy named Payam who is suffering from autism. His family is not willing for him to appear in public. One day, Payam enters at the rehearsals of a theater group by chance. The coach notices Payam’s talent and is intending to make him a member of the group. But, he faces the other actors’ disagreement…

Last year, Kanoon Theater and Puppet Theater Production Center supported theater artists with special needs in the form of a project called “Inclusive theater performance support plan” for children and adolescents with special needs. Contributing to the production of theater, Kanoon provided these groups with its halls so that this type of performance find its place in the society.

Based on this, other works staged via Kanoon plan to support artists with special needs and Kanoon Theater and Puppet Theater Production Center, “The Cat and The Tiger” directed by Mohammad Hassan Abouie; “The Cow that Wanted to Be a Lion” directed by Mohsen Mirzaie and Iman Taj Soleiman; “The Bird and The Elephant” directed by Hamid Kianian; “A Sky Full of Stars” directed by Alireza Dehghani; “Various Sorrows” directed by Hossein Gholami and “Where was Your Mind?” directed by Alireza Dehghani can be named.
