In line with the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) commitment to youth empowerment, participants will have the opportunity to connect with world leaders in politics and business and make those connections part of their decision-making process.

Based on the report, Mohammad Hossein Rouhandeh, Kanoon member from Tehran, and Tara Ghahramani are supposed to participate in the summit as Iran representatives.

Welcoming the first participants, Zurab Pololikashvili,

"Young people can play an important role in overcoming the crisis facing the tourism industry," said Italian Tourism Minister Massimo Garavaglia at the webinar. “They can also be an effective factor in improvement and change and play a leading role in the transition to sustainable tourism, because we want to achieve sustainable development, and this is very important. We are all looking forward to welcoming you to Sorrento.”

UNWTO Ambassador and soccer star Didier Drogba also welcomed the young participants to responsible tourism and encouraged them to become future tourism champions.

The summit includes several webinars during which participants discuss tourism and its sustainability, culture and food, innovation and climate change, and other topics.

The Italian National Tourism Agency (ENIT) and the Campania region have teamed up with the ministry to support the implementation of the first Global Youth Tourism Summit. Private stakeholders, including the Global Tourism Economics Research Center and the Bella Vista Institute for Higher Education, have also recognized the importance of the summit and invested in it.
