“Yadoo”, a feature film by Mehdi Jafari, made way to 8th Iranian Film Festival Zurich.

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, “Yadoo”, the last Kanoon feature film, recognized as the best film in 39th Fajr Film Festival in 2020 and then it received the award of the best director with 3 other awards in 2021 at the  34th Children and Youth Film Festival has continued gaining more success.

Now the Iranian Film Festival Zurich- which sees the screening of Iranian films as a platform for presenting Iranian culture and tradition and building a bridge between different cultures using the world language of art, especially the seventh art, cinema - has introduced “Yadoo” as one of the works that made way to the festival competition section.

The five-member jury is supposed to present the two-thousand dollars award of this festival to the best feature film of this art event.

Accordingly, the story of Yadoo is set in the first months of the imposed war, when many families living in border towns were forced to emigrate, but Yadoo's mother made another decision. She believes in staying and fighting, and each time she has a new excuse for her decision. Yadoo tries to convince his mother to leave Abadan, but in the meantime he falls in love with someone.

It should be noted that in the previous period of the festival - which was held online due to the widespread prevalence of Corona - for the first time a special section of this art event was dedicated to showing 10 animated short films produced by Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults. Swiss adolescents were able to watch Kanoon animations with their families.

Zurich 8th Iranian Film Festival is held from May 26 to 1stJune, 2022 in Zurich, Switzerland.
