In National Children’s Week: Read More Books

Petr Horácek, author and illustrator from Britain, has congratulated the National Children’s Week to Iranian kids through a video message sent to Kanoon and has suggested them to read more books in this week.

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, several international artists from various countries have congratulated Iranian children and adolescents on National Children’s Week by sending video messages.

Petr Horácek, the author and the illustrator of “Silly Suzy Goose” published by Kanoon, suggested children to read more books in the national week of children.

Below you can read the complete message by this author and illustrator:

This is Petr Horácek. I am an author and illustrator of children’s books. Welcome to my studio. This is the place where I write and illustrate. This is the place where I draw pictures. I love drawing animals. I love writing and illustrating for kids. In every book of mine, I have one of them (animals).

Well, these are two of my latest books. I think you are familiar with this book. “Silly Suzy Goose”. This book is published a few years ago. Now, I am going to draw some of it for you.

Can you tell me what this is? Yes, that is right. I have heard that there is a week in the Iranian colander called National Children’s Week. That is why I decided to draw a picture for you and wish you a nice week ahead. I hope you enjoy my books since I am in love with preparing books for kids. I wish you lots of love. Goodbye.

Based on this report, one of the best-selling books at Kanoon stores is “Silly Suzy Goose” written and illustrated by Petr Horácek translated by Noora Haghparast.

This book is for the age category of 3 to 8. It is the story of a goose wishing to be a bat to hang from branches upside down; to be an ortolan to sing out loud; to be a pinguin to slip on the snow; to be a giraffe to stretch his neck upward high; to be a lion to roar!

The goose of the story tries all and finally thinks to himself it is better to look like other geese.

Kanoon has published this book following copyright and with official permission from Britain Walker Books Publication.

National Children Week is being held with the motto of “Joyful Childhood, Colorful Livinghood” all over Iran, 8 to 14 Oct 2022.
