Displaying “First Case, Second Case” by Kiarostami in Amsterdam Film Festival

The restored version of documentary-feature movie by the late Iranian filmmaker, Abbas Kiarostami, “First Case, Second Case” is going to be displayed at the 36th Amsterdam International Documentary Film Festival, IDFA 2023, Holland.

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, “First Case, Second Case” is going to be screened on Nov 12 and 16, 2023 with the format of DCP and with English subtitles for the audience of classic films of this round of the festival.

Amsterdam Documentary International Film Festival, IDFA, is reckoned as the largest documentary film festival in the world held in Amsterdam, Holland, since 1988. This festival is a place to show comprehensible, creative, and original documentaries. The type of works which present new and unique insights to the society.

This fifty-three-minute movie is colorful produced by Kanoon written, directed and edited by Abbas Kiarostami, Houshand Baharlou has filmed it in 16mm format.

In the synopsis of the film we read: Seven high school boys are fired out of the classroom. The teacher threatens them if they do not tell him the name of the one who disturbs the class by hitting the pencil on the desk, they are not allowed to participate in the class for one week.

The 36th Amsterdam International Documentary Film Festival, IDFA, is being held in Holland from Nov 8 to 19, 2023.
