According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, the latest animation produced by Kanoon called “In the Shadow of the Cypress” directed by Hassan Molayemi and Shirin Sobhani managed to get the award for the best animation from Minsk International Film Festival LISTAPAD after its shining participation at the 80th Venice International Film Festival.

In the summary of the animation we read, “An ex-captain who is suffering from post-accident stress disorder is living with his daughter in a humble house in solitude next to the sea. They must face the challenges of a hard life. Although the captain wishes to be a sacrificing father but he cannot meet this task. He would like to establish relationship with her daughter in a way. One morning, something unexpected takes place and their life changes forever. Is this happening the source of new hopes or new problems?”

The 29th Minsk International Film Festival LISTAPAD is going to was held Nov 17 to 24, 2023 in Belarus.
