According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, the nineteen-minute and thirty-three-second animation, “In the Shadow of the Cypress” directed by Shirin Sohani and Hossein Molayemi, has participated at Clermont Ferrand Festival, France.
“In the Shadow of the Cypress” is Kanoon latest animation which is scheduled to be displayed six times during the festival.
In the summary of the animation we read: “One ex-captain who suffers from after-accident mental disorders is living with his daughter in a poor home next to the sea in solitude. They must face the challenges of a hard life.
Although the captain is deeply willing to be a sacrificing father for his daughter but he cannot meet his tasks and establish relationship with his daughter the way he wills.
One morning, an unexpected happening happens and their life changes forever. Is this happening to be the source of new hopes or new problems?”
Based on this, the Clermont-Ferrand short film festival in France, is the world's largest short film festival, established in 1979, and in terms of audience and professional presence, it is the second largest film festival in France after Cannes film festival.
This festival accepts short films, animations, documents and experimental lasting up to forty minutes. It is recognized by Oscar Academy, Bafta, Europe Film Awards, and Cesar Awards.
This festival has announced to have the record of registering 9400 films which is %14 more than that of the last year. About 70 short films have been selected for various sections.
The 46th Clermont Ferrand Short Film Festival is going to be held Feb 2 to 10, 2024 in Clermont Ferrand, France.
