According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, the nineteen-minute and thirty-three-second animation, Under the Shadow of Pine Tree directed by Shirin Sohani and Hossein Molayemi, a recent Kanoon production, is the only delegate of Iran in Santa Barbara Film Festival. 

Seventy films from various countries such as USA, Britain, Holland, Belgium, France, People's Republic of China, Canada, Lebanon, Qatar, Czech Republic, Finland, Spain, Argentina, Australia, Poland, Italy, Ireland, Estonia , Germany, and Brazil will compete in this round of the festival.

Santa Barbara International Film Festival is one of the oldest festivals in the world ranking “A”. It started its work in 1986. 

Every year, this festival selects the world's best fiction, documentary and animation films in two short and feature sections and presents a separate award to the winner of each section. At the end, the best short fiction and animated film of the festival will be introduced to the Oscar Academy

Santa Barbara neighborhood in California hosts this festival every year. The aim of this competition is to display the artistic talent of creative filmmakers worldwide and rearing them in various genres.
