According to Kanoon Directorate Public Relations and International Affairs, “In the Shadow of the Cypress”, directed by Shirin Sohani and Hossein Molayemi, Kanoon latest product is going to be displayed at animation completion section of 9th Florence Film Festival.

Florence Short Film Festival presents awards and cash in three sections of fiction, documentary, and animation.

In the summary of the animation we read: “One ex-captain who suffers from after-accident mental disorders is living with his daughter in a poor home next to the sea in solitude. They must face the challenges of a hard life.

Although the captain is deeply willing to be a sacrificing father for his daughter but he cannot meet his tasks and establish relationship with his daughter the way he wills.

One morning, an unexpected happening happens and their life changes forever. Is this happening to be the source of new hopes or new problems?”

“In the Shadow of the Cypress”, a short animation, has previously had eye-catching participation in national and international festivals and could win several awards.

The 9th Florence Short Film Festival was held from 25 to 27 Jan, 2024 in Florence, Italy.
