According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, Shahab International Storytelling Festival is held by Alhoda Organization in Baghdad, Iraq.
And Batoul Kimiaei, the coach at Taghi Palm cultural center, Asaluyeh Center, is participating in this festival with a tale called “Kakoli”. Based on this news, Alhoda cultural and education organization is the first International Storytelling Festival held to support the innocent children from Gaza. Iranian storyteller is introduced to the festival selected by Kanoon cultural assistant out of several coaches. On the sidelines of this festival, storytelling training courses and familiarizing Iraqi children with the art of storytelling and narrating stories of resistance will be held by the guests. Several conferences and specialized meetings about storytelling are among other festival programs. With the cooperation of ministry of culture, Shahab International Storytelling Festival is held from Feb 20 to 23, 2024 for the first time at Alrashid Hall in Baghdad with the presence the most prominent storytellers from Iraq.
Festival programs are supposed to last three days with the participation of official and cultural figures of Iraq in Baghdad. Based on this, the opening ceremony of the festival includes various programs and activities supporting Gaza children.
The Iranian storyteller has been selected from among several trainers of the center at the suggestion of the cultural vice-chancellor of the center and has been introduced to the Shahab International Storytelling Festival by the International Affairs of Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults. On the sidelines of this festival, storytelling training courses and familiarization of Iraqi children with the art of storytelling and narration of resistance stories will be held by the guests. Also, holding several specialized conferences and meetings in the field of storytelling is one of the other programs of the Shahab International Storytelling Festival. The first Shahab international storytelling festival will be held in cooperation with the Iraqi Ministry of Culture at Al-Rashid Hall in Baghdad from 20 to 23 February 2024 with the presence of the most prominent Iraqi and international storytellers.
