“In the Shadow of the Cypress” Has Won Italy Film Festival Award

Kanoon animation, “In the Shadow of the Cypress”, won the “Animation Art Award” called “Giuseppe Maestri” from 25th International Festival "Corti da Sogni - Antonio Ricci".

Kanoon animation, “In the Shadow of the Cypress”, won the “Animation Art Award” called “Giuseppe Maestri” from 25th International Festival "Corti da Sogni - Antonio Ricci". 

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, “In the Shadow of the Cypress”, Kanoon latest animation jointly made by Hossein Molayemi and Shirin Sohani has shined in international festivals. 

25th International Festival "Corti da Sogni - Antonio Ricci” came to an end while more than 1000 filmmakers had asked to participate in this festival out of which 64 films from 19 countries reached the final stage.

Based on this, Italy with 18 short films, France with 9 films, Spain with 7 films, Iran with 6 films and Germany with 4 films were the countries participating with the highest number of films. 

The sweet dream award of “Sogni D'ord” was given to the best short non-European films. The award of European dreams called “Sogni” was given to the best European non-Italian short film. The award of “Giuseppe Maestri” was given to the best short animation. The award of the best short Italian film along with the award of student section, and the award of the young critique and Ivano Marescotti  Award  went to the best female actor of a short film. “Green Planet” Award went to the best environmental film in this round of the festival. 

25th International Festival "Corti da Sogni - Antonio Ricci” was held from 16 to 20 April 2024 in Ravenna, Italy.
