According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, the short animation, “In the Shadow of the Cypress” directed by Hossein Molayemi and Shirin Sohani produced by Kanoon, is going to be screened at the International Animation Festival of Animayo, Spain.  

By participating in this festival, this animation is trying the chance of reaching the initial list of short films nominated for Academy Awards.

Animayo International Animation Festival is being held in the Canary Islands, Spain. It is one of the prestigious European festivals approved by Academy Awards.  

Out of 1600 movies, only 65 films were selected for the formal competition section. The winner of the grand award of the festival wins the cash award of 3000 Euros and will continue its path to OSCAR. 

The 19th Animayo Animation Festival is being held in Spain, May 8 to 11, 2024.
