According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, “In the Shadow of the Cypress” competed with 11 films from Bulgaria, Czech Republic, The Netherlands, Hong Kong, Poland, Spain, USA, India, and Bulgaria which finally won the award for the best short animation in the group of ten to forty-minute-animations. 

“In the Shadow of the Cypress” is Kanoon’s latest animation.

Out of 3500 films sent to this round of the Golden Kuker Festival, 96 films from 98 countries competed in ten sections of:

The best film, short special animation (about one minute), best short animation lasting one to ten minutes, best short animation lasting ten to forty-five minutes, the best animation more than forty-five minutes, the best student animation, the best child animation, the best part of a TV series (animation), the best animation about the environment, the best music, and the best commercial animation. At the end, awards were given to the winners of each section. 14th Golden Kuker International Animation Film Festival, 2024 was held May 5 to 11, 2024 in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.
