According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, Shirin Sohani and Hossein Molayemi, the directors of this short animation participated virtually in the closing ceremony of this festival. 

“In the Shadow of the Cypress”, an animation produced by Kanoon, has won many national and international prizes so far. 

Based on this news and about the award given to “In the Shadow of the Cypress”, the jury has announced that, “The award of the best animation is presented to “In the Shadow of the Cypress” because of its destructive narration, wonderful sound and image, respect for aesthetics in animation and the elegance with which we get close to the human psyche.”

This festival started working in 1978 by Drama City Film Center in Greece with the goal of promoting and disseminating cinematography especially short films in Greece and out of the country to create a spirit of cooperation with the artists all over the world. It is the only festival in Greece approved by the Oscar.
