According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, “In the Shadow of the Cypress”, an animation jointly directed by Shirin Sohani and Hossein Molayemi is a Kanoon product.
The story of this twenty-minute animation which has won many prizes from international film festivals is about a captain suffering from stress after an accident. He is living in solitude with his daughter in a poor house on the seaside. They must confront the challenges of a difficult life.
Based on this news, “In the Shadow of the Cypress” is competing with other animations such as “Beautiful Men, “Magic Candies”, “Wander to Wonder” and “Yuck!” to win the Oscar for the best short animation.
