According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, this event was held from 3 to 5 Oct 2025 with participation of researchers, judges and artists from all over the world.
Behabadi’s research has been done with a qualitative approach based on semi-structured interviews with Iranian illustrators selected at various rounds of BIB.
The results of this study shows that the presence of Iranian illustrators in this international field has contributed to the production of symbolic investment, promoting the social and professional stand of illustrators while helping to spread professional networks and being noticed internationally.
Behabadi has pinpointed the artists rethinking about their style, image narrating and the experience of suspense between indigenous identity and global aesthetics.
One point the study is criticizing, putting “The Plan for Visual Assimilation” based on which the pressure of international mechanisms can diminish the domestic or native elements and cause the variety of styles to decrease.
The article considers the dual structure of domestic and international arbitration to be an effective mechanism in reproducing structural inequalities.
This article was welcomed by illustrators and researchers participating at the symposium. It is supposed to be published in national and international periodicals.
