Displaying Three Kanoon Classic Animations in International Section of Tehran Short Film Festival

Three Kanoon short classic animations were displayed at one of the sections of international competition of the 42nd Tehran International Short Film Festival titled “Tampere in Iran”.

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, the audience of Tehran Short Film Festival on Oct 21 from 6 pm to 7:30 witnessed one of the most enchanting parts of this round of the festival. A section dedicated to displaying the selected short films of the international festival of “Tampere, Finland”.
In this section, the films selected between 1971 and 2001 at Tampere Film Festival, reminiscent of childhood and adolescence of the previous generations are present.
Three Kanoon works: “Flower Storm” made by Ali Akbar Sadeghi in 1972; “The Purple Crayon” made by the late Nafiseh Riahi in 1976; and “Restricted Area” made by the late Arapik Baghdasarian in 1973 were displayed in this section.
These works, along with three others: “Patrolman” , “Daughters of the Sun” and “Living” were displayed. After the screening, a review session entitled "Pioneers of Iranian Heritage at Tampere Festival" was held.

Having a history of more than 56 years, Tampere International Festival is one of the most prestigious festivals in Europe and in the world. It is held with the support of “Oscar Academy”, “Europe Award Academy” and “BAFTA Film Awards” is held in Finland.
Since 1969, this festival has been working in four sections of “Story”, “Documentary”. “Animation”, and “Experimental”. Its goal is to display short films at an international level; also supporting young filmmakers committed to professional standards.
The 42nd Tehran International Short Film Festival with Behrouz Shoeibi as the secretariat was held from Oct 19 to 24, 2025 at Iran Mall Cinema Campus.
