“The Ocean Behind the Window” Won Iranian Film Festival Award, San Francisco

“The Ocean Behind the Window”, a feature film directed by Babak Nabizadeh, won the award for children and adolescents films (Sepanta) in the 13th Annual Iranian Film Festival – San Francisco

According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, this festival is held every year in San Francisco, United States, to display the best Iranian animations, documentaries and feature films. It grants Sepanta Award to the best film in each section.

Kanoon Cinema Affairs produced “The Ocean Behind the Window” in 2019. Seid Jalal Chavoushian is the producer. This film could win six prizes from two sections at 32nd International Film Festival for Children and Youth, Isfahan.

San Francisco Cinema Event is the first independent festival for  Iranian films outside Iran established in 2008 to display films by Iranian filmmakers or films made about Iran.

In 2013, “Sepanta Award” for the best animation was granted to “Why does this telephone never ring?”, directed by Hadi Yaghinlou and produced by Kanoon.

13th Annual Iranian Film Festival – San Francisco that was supposed to be held online on Sept 19th and 20, 2020 was extended for 7 days.
