According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, this book managed to receive the award from the 18th Kanoon Children and Youth Book Festival. It also has won the silver badge of the 5th round of the book of the year, The Flying Turtle.
Entering the List of Honor of the written works of the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) and getting nominated for Book of the Year of the Islamic Republic of Iran are among other achievements of this book. It was also selected as Book of the Year by Children's Book Council in 2017.
Focusing on the need of preserving of the endangered animals, Kanoon has published “The Shadow of the Monster” in 2016.
This book is created in the form of “Today’s Teenage Novel”. It narrates the story of a girl called Maral who goes to the National Golestan Park with her brother when they come to know a filmmaker called Afra who asks Maral to act in his film.
Maral who is friends with the tiger of this jungle for years accepts this offer. Since this spot the story of two lives are narrated side by side. One is the friendship between Maral and the tiger, and the other is the story of friendship of Laleh and tiger fifty years ago.
It is reminded that “The Shadow of the Monster” has recently been translated into Armenian and the publisher released in Armenia in a ceremony.
