According to Kanoon General Directorate for Public Relations and International Affairs, following the success of Shiva Sadegh Asadi's latest work, “Crab” could win the award by the jury from the 17th International Lago Short Film Festival.
This year, 25 films from 20 countries including 12 feature films, 8 animations, and 5 documentaries had entered into the competition section classified in 6 groups.
“Crab” was displayed along with “Polka-Dot Boy”, a joint product by Japan and France; two feature movies: “Microcassette” from Croatia, and “Excuse Me, Miss, Miss, Miss” from the Philippines in three groups on July 26th, 29th, 2021 in person and virtually.
“Crab” is Kanoon production in 2020 directed by Shiva Sadegh Asadi that had already received Golden Award by the audience and honorary diploma by children as jury from Dresden International Short Film Festival, Germany.
Kanoon had previously participated in this festival at competition section with “The Fisherman and Spring” produced in 2017 in the 15th round of the festival. Also, two short animations “The Fox who Followed the Sound” produced in 2012 and “Cloudy Goats” produced in 2014 displayed in the competition section and UNICEF of 10th round of Lago festival.
17th Lago International Short Film Festival was held from 23 to 31 July 2021 in an area close to Venice, Italy.
It is reminded that “Crab” has recently been nominated at Animaphix International Animated Film Festival along with ten films from Denmark, Poland, Italy, Canada, Bulgaria, Brazil, Hungary, Italy and Switzerland for special award called Guttuso (the well-known Italian painter) as the best film employing painting technique. It was displayed in Villa Cattolica Amphitheater on July 27, 2021.
This festival was held from July 27 to August 1, 2021 in Sicily, Italy.
